Welcome

If you look around you will notice that there is a great desire to have secret knowledge, to be able to reveal truth to which the rest of the world is blind, and to come to an understanding that no one else has attained. Such is the obvious case with cults and conspiracy theories, but less obvious in many advertisements and posts intended to expose something's true identity that no one else knows. And while not every propagation unknown by most is necessarily completely false, it does make one think that truth is mysterious. This is not a new trend, in fact, a few thousand years ago the Gnostics propagated the notion that they themselves had superior knowledge; they claimed they knew the truth and that no one, unless they join their cult, could attain such full knowledge.

In addition, quite a few people want truth to be unknowable, enigmatic and so shrouded in mystery so that no one can know anything for certain. As such, no belief or proposition is any more valid than another. This is practical relativism and collapses upon itself for if nothing can be known to be true then such a claim cannot be known to be true. And taking it a step further, many a person would say that there is no truth.

Well, to both the Gnostics and practical relativists Jesus says in John 8:32 that truth can be known, and in John 17:17 that God's Word is truth. Truth, God's truth, is not something that is unknown or can be discerned only by a select few.

God's word, the Bible, is the best-selling book of all time. More people have had the opportunity to read it more than any other book worldwide - it is no secret (especially in the age of the internet) more people with the click of a button can read it. There are no secret messages, no cryptic stories, and no hidden meanings in the Bible. It is clear, it is pure, and it is true because God by it illuminates the readers mind and reveals the knowledge of Himself and our identity.

Yet, despite access to the Bible, many cannot be bothered to study it. Some may casually observe it only to gain enough knowledge to believe they have mastered it and found it wanting; still others more dangerously read it to merely put their own interpretation into it. In these cases, such thinking is dishonest to understand what the text of the Bible actually means.

In light of this, UnavoidableTruth.com does not seek to expose hidden truth, or give some new explanation, but to be a platform that magnifies the truth that the Bible has said since the beginning and is accessible to all.

Statement of Beliefs

  • We believe that every word of the Scripture is from God (2 Timothy 3:16), who used human instruments (Luke 1:70) to write it. The Bible is authoritative (Isaiah 55:11), true (Psalm 119:160), holy (Romans 1:2), clear (Psalm 119:99), and necessary to read (2 Timothy 3:17). Scripture is sufficient (Romans 15:4), hence the sixty-six books comprising the canon of Scripture is closed (Revelation 22:18-19).

  • We believe in one God (Isaiah 43:11-13) who is spirit (John 4:24). He is holy (Isaiah 6:3), sovereign (Psalm 135:5-6), sufficient (Psalm 50:9-12), creator (Genesis 1:1), righteous (Psalm 89:14), all-powerful (Matthew 19:26), all-knowing (Psalm 147:5), everywhere (Psalm 139:7-8), and all-loving (1 John 4:8). God is immutable (Malachi 3:6) and inscrutable (Psalm 145:3) and He is revealed in the pages of Scripture (John 20:31).

  • We believe that the Trinity is taught in Scripture (Matthew 28:19), which means that there is only one God, but three persons in the Godhead – God the Father, God the Son who is Jesus Christ, and God the Holy Spirit. All three Persons are co-equal, co-eternal, and completely God.

  • We believe that Jesus took on the form of a man (Philippians 2:7) without leaving His deity. Jesus was tempted in all things yet was without sin (Hebrew 4:15).

  • We believe that Jesus was crucified and physically died on the cross (Acts 2:23), and was buried in a tomb (John 19:38-42). Jesus bodily rose from the dead (Luke 24:6, 39; 1 Corinthians 15:4), was seen alive by five hundred people at one time (1 Corinthians 15:6), and ascended into heaven (Acts 1:9).

  • We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin (John 16:8-10), and seals the believer so that one who believes in Jesus will never be lost (Ephesians 4:30).

  • We believe that man was created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27), and that God created only two genders, male and female (Matthew 19:4) which is the same as one's biological sex.

  • We believe that God is the Owner and Sustainer of all human life (Acts 17:25), and that all human life is sacred (Psalm 139:14) from fertilization (Psalm 139:15-16) to natural death. There is no one who is too young, old, or infirm (physically or mentally) where it is permissible to destroy his or her life (Exodus 20:13). Therefore, we believe that all murder (including abortion, euthanasia and suicide) and hatred in the heart is sin (Matthew 5:21-22).

  • We believe that marriage is defined by God as the union between one biological man and one biological woman for life (Genesis 2:24).

  • We believe that sin is the breaking of God’s law (1 John 3:4) and originated in the garden of Eden by Adam and Eve’s sin as recorded in Genesis chapter 3, and that every sin is worthy of God's infinite punishment (Romans 6:23). Everyone is born with a sin nature (Romans 5:12) and is personally responsible for his or her sins (Joshua 24:15). God will forgive all the sins of anyone who turns from his or her sin, trusting in the biblical Christ alone for salvation (Acts 3:19; 1 Corinthians 6:11).

  • We believe that Jesus died on the cross taking the infinite punishment that the world deserved, completely paying the debt (Colossians 2:14), and thereby making peace between those who believe and God (Ephesians 2:15-16). God will not accept anything we do to gain salvation (Isaiah 64:6).

  • We believe that Jesus will return for all those who believe in Him (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17). Everyone will exist forever – those who have been saved by Jesus will be with Him in eternal heaven, but those who have not believed in Him will be cast into the eternal Lake of Fire because they have rebelled against God and not received the payment that Jesus made on his or her behalf (Revelation 21:5, 7-8).
